He was a faculty member in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, University of Toronto, from 1986 – 2003, where his research was in two overlapping areas – (1) the role of omega-3 fatty acids in brain development and human health, and (2) the relationship between ketones, the very high-fat ketogenic diet and brain development.

Ivor Cummins

Following less-than-optimum blood test results, Ivor Cummins used his 25-year background in biochemical engineering to research the papers and studies of the last 5 decades, primarily in relation to the "diet-heart" hypothesis.

Scouring past writings that supported the hypothesis that dietary saturated fat elevated blood cholesterol, which in turn drove heart disease mortality, Ivor found the "evidence" given at the time to be loose correlation at most, and certainly not causation.

He found that the tenacity of this flawed hypothesis has turned out to be no laughing matter, condemning millions to the misery of obesity, type 2 diabetes and an extraordinary range of inflammatory diseases.

Stephanie Person

Stephanie is a self-taught keto consultant. She began educating herself regarding keto adaptation when her mother was diagnosed with a terminal glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor. The prognosis was 6 months to live. This prompted her to take an aggressive approach to learn ways to slow cancer growth.

She dramatically lowered her mother's carbohydrate intake and raised her dietary fats exponentially. Immediately her mother’s cancer growth stopped, and she is now in her 7th year of being cancer-free.

Today, Stepahnie continues to collect and study keto adaptation failures and successes in her ongoing keto coaching and research practices. Her goal is to help spread the word to people of all ages, ethnic backgrounds, gender and moral principles about the benefits of ketosis.

She has also keto coached thousands of clients with amazing results.

Dr. Ali Al Lawati, M.D.

He is also a type-1 diabetic. He was diagnosed at the age of 7 and at the age of 15 began treating his own diabetes with a Low Carbohydrate approach at the age of 15.

He is currently working at the Royal Court Health Complex . Prior to that, while working at the Royal Hospital in Muscat, he held the post of Acting Consultant in Acute Medicine and ran the Lifestyle Medicine clinic.

He also took an active part in teaching medical residents and educating doctors on treatment of diabetes and other endocrine disorders. His strongest medical interests are in the fields of Lifestyle Medicine, Integrative Medicine and Endocrinology.
